The 表演艺术 Department at Bergen Catholic is looking forward to an exceptional 2017/18 season. While continuing to raise the cultural awareness and esteem of the arts by providing our students with meaningful experiences and numerous opportunities for public performances, we have also been active in numerous collaborative efforts with other Catholic High Schools to showcase the talents of the young men involved in our Vocal Ensemble, Jazz Band and Chamber Ensemble. We continue to emphasize the importance of music and the arts in the development of our talented students. The 表演艺术 Department is visible throughout the school community as well as the community at large.
Raising Cultural Awareness And Esteem Of The Arts By Providing Our Students With Meaningful Experiences And Numerous Opportunities
The Bergen Catholic Men`s Vocal Ensemble performs at numerous school activities, 开放日 , 群众, 体育赛事, 音乐会, 歌舞厅, 和竞赛.
本赛季, the Ensemble appeared in Concert with Mary Help of Christian Academy and Bishop Hendricken High School in Rhode Island. After participating in an outstanding masterclass at Lehigh University, the Men`s Vocal Ensemble went on to win First Place Honors and a Superior rating at the Festivals of Music competition in Hershey, Pa. At this year’s Spring Concert, 校友, Faculty and Dads joined our Ensemble Members on stage, having mastered two selections, Brothers in Song and our Alma Mater. This was a first and we look forward to making this a time honored tradition.
Bergen’s Jazz Band continues to thrill audiences at their annual concerts and their appearances at Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair. They delight the Bergen Catholic community as they perform at the annual Gala This year the Jazz Band again appeared in concert with the Bergen County Community College Jazz Ensemble. The Jazz Band achieved high honors this spring by bringing home the trophies for Outstanding Jazz Band and First Place Honors with a Superior rating at the Festivals of Music in Hershey, Pa.
Our Chamber Ensemble is our newest 表演艺术 organization and is directed by renowned Bassist, 查尔斯·多尔蒂, BG大游官网的校友. This rapidly growing performing group is open to all string, 木管乐器, brass and percussion instrumentalists. Their first season boasted two outstanding Concert appearances!
The TRI M National Music Honor Society was established at Bergen Catholic during the 2013/2014 academic year. The Chapter offers our musicians opportunities for service and leadership.

Bergen Thespians continue to shine as they take the stage in musical productions at Immaculate Conception High School, 无暇之心学院, and Mary Help of Christians High School. Our Coffee House Cabaret has become a highlight of our program. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents as they perform selections of their choice, 声乐和器乐. These numerous opportunities for performance have enabled us to showcase yet another aspect of what is available to young men at Bergen, encouraging them to capitalize on their potential, 就我个人而言, 精神上和音乐上.
